According to a report from The Morgan Messenger, a newly-built Morgan County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station in Paw Paw, West Virginia, is nearly 70 percent complete and expected to be in service by the end this year or the beginning of 2021.

The two-bay garage and EMS building will house the current crew that operates out of the Paw Paw Fire Department building.

Kevin Duckwall, Director of Morgan County Rescue Service, Inc., said the agency wanted ambulance crews in the new facility this month, but construction delays pushed the target date to the end of the year. Morgan County Commission contracted Morgan County Rescue Service, Inc. to provide 24-hour EMS to county residents.

Duckwall also said that two staff members and two EMS units are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He also stated that the station is designed to house the on-duty crew as well as accommodate more staff in case of a large emergency situation or bad weather.

Weather-permitting, there will be an asphalt drive and apron installed around the building before the end of the year.
